Hello May! I don’t really know what week I am at – I have been too lax about my weekly postings to keep up to date. I just wanted to give a brief update on how everything has been going.
I hit my goal of starting my first weigh in for May under 180 (welcome you fine looking 170 number)! My goal for this month is just to keep up with my daily work walks, get outside more at home, less cheat snacks, and to just get out of the 170s as quickly as possible!
I tried a handstand maybe two weeks ago and was able to still do it. I had it in my head that because of my weight gain, I would no longer be able to do it. Last time I did one was probably in my young twenty’s maybe… I honestly can’t recall but at least 7+ years….so when I was able to lift and hold myself up – I was really ecstatic about it. I know it seems like a silly thing to be happy about but the fact I can still do it over this amount of years just helps encourage me to see what else I am capable of doing.
In April I struggled with m&ms (peanut) and chips so with this month, I am trying to refocus on things that are healthier alternatives that will still satisfy my sweet and salty cravings. I even picked up some apple cinnamon rice cakes and kettle corn (popcorn) because both taste good to me and even though they aren’t as healthy as say veggies/fruit, I still think it is a step up from the other junk. I am all for “progress not perfection” 😉
