So, I am one this year that is on the “new year – new me” bs. I decided to start Weight Watchers since I weigh basically the most I have ever weighed. I am pretty excited about it because I am finally motivated to do it. My goal is to lose at least 50 lbs; however, I have little goals in there because it is not all about what the scale says for me (ex. measurements/ eat healthier/ exercise). My official start date was 1/3 (Sunday) so this is my 3rd day on WW and so far, I really enjoy it. I like the point system vs. calorie counting and you can eat whatever you want (as long as you manage your points).
Last time I lost a significant amount of weight, I was all about limiting what foods I could eat and counting every little calorie – which worked great at the time for me but now I need to have more flexibility (otherwise, I will just give up). In order to help me stay motivated, I will make it a goal to post at least once a week regarding my progress on my Instagram account and set up a separate section on my blog just for my weight loss journey. I will just capture my first two days and then will probably do my updates once a week on here as well. It helps with my accountability and also since I am a goal-oriented person, having small attainable goals helps me stay on track.
Sunday (day 1) – being that this was my first day, it was pretty easy to stay on track, but I was sooo hungry Sunday night and even waking up Monday morning. This was unexpected but now reflecting on it, it should have been somewhat expected. I literally went from eating whatever (especially over the holidays) to limited portions.
Monday (day 2) – yesterday was pretty easy actually. The hardest part was after dinner, my wife had a nice-looking bowl of dessert while I had a bowl of air! I could have easily had a zero-point snack (like an apple) but really, I was just craving the sugar. I did want to start stretching but that didn’t happen (goal unchecked) so I will strive to start tonight with that side of my goal. Didn’t go to sleep hungry and thoroughly enjoyed what I had chosen to eat throughout the day. Still looking for more recipes to incorporate better meals instead of the usual (ex. chicken & veggies) but overall happy!
